CDL schools that accept GI Bill or WIOA in Florida

This page lists only programs that appear in official government records: VA's GI Bill Comparison Tool (pulled October 21, 2026) and Florida CareerSource boards' WIOA Eligible Training Provider Lists. Being on a list means the program can be funded. Your own eligibility is decided by VA or your local CareerSource office. Approval of a specific program is not guaranteed.

GI Bill-approved CDL programs in Florida (27)

These are non-college-degree programs listed in VA's GI Bill Comparison Tool with a truck-driving or CDL program name.

GI Bill on-the-job training (apprenticeship/OJT) truck-driving programs

These employers have VA-approved on-the-job or apprenticeship programs for truck drivers. GI Bill benefits can be paid while you train on the job.

Under WIOA, eligible job seekers can get an Individual Training Account to pay a provider on Florida's Eligible Training Provider List. Contact the CareerSource board where you live.

Other funding options

• WIOA Individual Training Accounts (CareerSource Florida network). Under the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, eligible job seekers may receive an Individual Training Account (ITA) to purchase training from a provider on Florida's Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL). Eligibility and funding are decided by your local CareerSource board, so contact them before you enroll. • Miami Dade College Open Door Grant. MDC lists its non-credit Commercial Driver's License Class A (CDL) and Commercial Class "B" Driving programs as eligible. The grant can cover up to 100% of tuition and fees (also exams, books, uniforms) for Florida residents who are U.S. citizens, permanent residents or eligible noncitizens. FAFSA not required. • St. Pete Works EDGE (Pinellas Technical College). Pinellas Technical College says its Commercial Vehicle Driving program may be funded through St. Pete Works EDGE, which is open to young adults living in the South St. Petersburg CRA (ZIP codes 33701, 33705, 33711, 33712, 33713).
